4 easy ways to navigate the Flowtech catalogue in 2024
Did you know there is more than one way to browse the new Flowtech catalogue? Check out all our easy-to-follow navigation tips so you can find professionally-engineered products for you, in record time.
Now that our fluid power catalogue has finally launched, we’re happy to see plenty of customers using it to browse through over 75,000 products and discover many of the 6,500 new items we now have enclosed.
However, if you’re completely new to browsing high quality, professionally-engineered products in such a format, we understand it can seem a bit daunting to find what you need.
That’s why our catalogue is designed for easy-navigation, with various ways that products can be found, whether you’re browsing by product name, brand name, part code, or just simply by the visual image to find the right item for you.
You can discover much more in this helpful guide and, to give you even more of a helping hand, we’ve also highlighted a few bonus navigation tips so that by the time you reach the end, you’ll be an FT Pro.

Product type search
When starting your search for products in the Flowtech catalogue, one of the most direct ways to navigate is simply to find the right product category and browse through until you find the correct item.
Our catalogue is made up of 18 individual sections, all colour-coded so you can find the right section quickly and easily, as soon as you open the first few pages.
To make this process even simpler, we have included stepped tabs on the edge of each page so that if you know what colour-coded section you’re aiming for, you can open the catalogue at the start of that particular section.
At the start of each section there is a reminder of the full contents of the catalogue on the left hand side of the page. The subsections are then listed with page numbers on the right, for you to narrow down your search even further.
Top tip: Do you know the name of your product and want to find the page straight away? Head to our Product Index on Page 1769 to find a full alphabetical list of product names, with the associated page numbers indicated.
Visual search
Do you work better with visuals rather than reams of text? Within any individual section, if you turn the page from your list of contents, you will discover the list of subsections displayed visually, with a collection of thumbnail images and brand logos.
This is the easiest way to navigate the catalogue in a visual way, using images to find a product or part that matches the visual description that you might already have.
Once you start browsing the correct section, you will then start to see larger images of items with expanded descriptions, which should give you enough information to make your final decision.
Brand name search
Another way you might approach your catalogue search is by having a particular brand name in mind.
The good news is we have a whole page of brand logos at the start of the catalogue so you can see the specific brands we have on offer. These logos are then included in each subsection to indicate which manufacturers you might find when browsing particular areas of the catalogue.
On all product pages you will notice the brand logo in the top right corner, indicating that they are the manufacturer of that specific range of items.
Top tip: Conveniently, we also have a Brand Index located at the back of the catalogue on Page 1766, that will enable you to find a specific brand, with a list of related products underneath and associated page numbers.
Part code search
Last but not least, if you happen to know your individual Part Codes when it comes to the products listed in the catalogue, then you might already have a head start on most customers.
If you have a list of Part Codes in hand then you’re best off heading straight to the Part Code Index on Page 1781 to find a numerically-ordered list of all codes with an associated page number for each one.
Bonus catalogue navigation tips
- Linked products – if you take a look at the bottom of some product pages, you’ll be able to see linked products that are often purchased at the same time. You’ll notice these signposted in grey boxes, often including a page number or section number to visit
- Alternate titles – be advised, there are a few products you will find that are known by different names. Take Bonded Seals for example; these are sometimes known as Dowty Seals. Thankfully, if you use the Product Index on Page 1769 you will be able to find that both names are included, with both entries directing you to Pages 109-112
- New product stamps – are you in the market for one of the 6,500 new products we have included in the catalogue for 2024? If you follow the steps in ‘Visual Search’ above, you will find red new product stamps on thumbnail images, indicating they have been recently added
